Mythimo's author and the artist (Simo) proudly present their symbiotic series of Book and twenty-two Reading Cards, commencing with the release of four favourite European fairy tales in quality gloss prints: The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, East of the Sun, West of the Moon, and Puss in Boots.
Join us on an experiential journey through the vibrant aesthetic of our gallery of perennial fairy-tale archetypes redomiciled in the Australian landscape. Our southern land is an alchemical and ancient place, inspiring our reclamation of the invisible elements of Self and fuelling the sacred fire of our fulsome personal power.
As the famous Bloomsbury art critic Clive Bell (1913) wrote, “works of art provoke a peculiar aesthetic emotion, and art is, in fact, a necessity to (and a product of) the spiritual life.”
Simo's authentic renditions lead us back to nature as we immerse ourselves in his lush literary and symbolic paintings, exploring both light and shadow in search of personal meaning and the adventurous child within.
But are we quick to claim Red Cap’s or Jack’s derring-do but slow to own the shadow traits we share with the vain Goldilocks, emperor or queen?
There is a rarity to the artist’s iconography, rendered in oil on canvas, capturing the sage spirit of the classical fairy-tale age while reconciling it with a raw sun-drenched outback girt by sea.
Simo harmonises the dissonance of human-crafted social norms with the natural world, setting the scene for how we must balance egoic artifice with our original essence when engaging in the mythopoetic Mythimo process. His mythograms provoke a deep emotional response from our aesthetic contemplations, filling our senses with all that is resonant within and around us. Then, we emerge ready to face reality with renewed energy, hope and a fresh bloom of courage.
Our path to Wholeness and Happiness starts here.
This dynamic series of the Mythimo Book, twenty-two fairy-tale Reading Cards & Guide-Book, and Art Prints (available for Art Gallery Exhibitions), is destined to lead us out of the woods and into the clearing where a brighter future awaits.
Sleeping Beauty
She is serene, sensitive, and so impressionable. Like the shadowy depths of her watery home, her spiritual enquiry runs deep as she ponders the imponderable laying beneath. Still, when she meets the man of her dreams, she dives right in with ne’er a thought about the practicalities or having her needs met. Her friends tell her she is just pipe-dreaming her life away and must face reality. But the finely tuned Little Mermaid goes wherever her soul leads, often seeking creative counselling to navigate her emotions. Despite her radiance, inside, feeling inadequate, she fears rejection and abandonment. Her sea-kin, such as the gentle Dugong and playful Platypus, awaken her intuitive powers, encouraging her to break free from her shadowy bounds. Can she go with the flow - for only then will she discover her unique place of belonging? The Little Mermaid must embrace self-help and be open to loving herself once and for all to free her untold story. Even without all the answers to what she seeks to know, she must trust that the Divine has her back, reclaim her voice and accept she was born beautiful and powerful in a universe unfolding as it should. Animal Totems: Dugong, Platypus, Starfish, and Green turtle: Print Available for Purchase. Suitable for Reflection and Self-Help.
